Self-catering gites

Self-catering gites : a home from home

Gites are houses or separate accommodation with one or more bedrooms, a lounge/diner, a kitchen or kitchenette and bathroom facilities. They can be rented for a few days, a weekend or more usually for one or several weeks, particularly during the French school holidays, and guests are guaranteed a friendly welcome from the owners.
The Gites de France rating system ranging from 1 to 5 ears of corn guarantees specific standards and values which are set out in a National Charter. All gites are regularly inspected and designated as furnished holiday-lets under the terms of an amendment to the ruling passed on 28/12/1976.

Gite prices

The rental prices shown are for a week (from 4pm Saturday to 10am Saturday) or weekend.
Depending on the comfort rating, bed linen, towels and cleaning may be available on request. Heating is rarely included in the rental price and specific mention must be set out in the booking agreement. It is advisable to ask the owner for an estimated daily charge for heating.

How to book ?

Online booking is very simple. Just find your property using a range of search criteria (location, comfort rating, etc.), then access our online booking system.
You can also, depending on the gite you have chosen, contact our Reservation Service by phone on (33) 251 729 565 or by email:, or contact the owner direct on the number given in the property description.
In all cases, you will receive a rental agreement (2 copies) and a detailed property description sheet. If you book via the Reservation Service you will also be offered cancellation insurance.

Practical tips

If you wish to bring a pet, please make sure that your chosen property accepts pets.

For busy periods such as Bank Holiday, weekends and school holidays, we advise booking several weeks in advance.

If you are travelling with young children, some properties have baby equipment and other facilities to make your life easier.
